Integrating Gender and Good Governance in Borno State Project

Overview:

The project is specifically designed to address issues around Women’s participation in governance and decision making in local and state affairs, most especially through the provision of capacity development programme for women and policy/administration stakeholders and mainstreaming of gender into local governance and decision making in the above mentioned LGAs/communities of Borno State. The Overall goal of the GEPaDC project is Strengthened Capacity for Sustainable Good Governance Practices in Borno State, while the specific objectives were to: enhance the capacity of communities and Local Government officials on gender and policy education; improve access of community members to basic services and infrastructure; increase research on Gender and Good Governance in the University of Maiduguri; enhance women’s participation in politics, governance and community development processes; increase awareness on HIV/AIDS and generate information to improve quality of decision making.
