Intervention in Education of IDP Children

Intervention in Education of IDP Children

Overview:

Education was one of the casualties of the Boko Haram insurgency. People were displaced, schools destroyed and displace children were not in school as there were no schools in the camps. One of the camps with a school was the EYN Camp in Wulari. After a visitation by GEPaDC one of the needs identified in the school was that of recreational facilities. GEPaDC was able to put in place recreational facilities. In addition, GEPaDC was also able to pay a stipend to volunteer teachers for a few months. In another camp, GEPaDC provided mats and exercise books for women and girls who were been taught numeracy and literacy in the camps. This initiative is ongoing with people contributing funds, material (clothes and books) for vulnerable children that are really in need and not being catered for by any project
